If church signs were honest about Easter

Perhaps before the week is out I’ll write a more serious post about Easter. For now, this tickled my funny bone. Enjoy. And think about what churches would say if we had to be honest. “The Episcopal Church welcomes you!” Really?

While I will happy to see the serious easter post- there’s a sermon, its just not really the one I want to write- so a new starting place would be welcome- but in the meantime, did anyone else notice that Hilltop Memorial Presby church is having “Sun Easter MASS” at 9am? Calvinism isn’t what it used to be is it?

This may be honest, but also could be construed as insensitive. What if instead the sign read We are so happy to see you whenever you are here! Perhaps people would want to be in church more often.

Cathy, it sounds much better if you read it with tongue tucked firmly in cheek.

They should be grateful they are getting packed houses for those 2 holidays each year, rather than NEVER having a packed house all year long!
