Two things:

1) I truly, truly love "For all the saints" with Sine Nomine, but those middle verses with one military metaphor after another are really too much -- one might as well sing "Onward Christian Soldiers".

2) What does the memorial list of parish departed (in the oratory) have to do with All Saints' Day? Aren't they the "Faithful Departed" whose day comes on the 2nd? Or are all the departed of Christ Church automatically canonized?

In my very first parish, I indicated to the organist that I wanted to sing "For All the Saints" on All Saints Day. Imagine my surprise when she began to play a tune I'd never heard before in my life - a tune I recognize now as "Sarum."

Actually, _Sine nomine_ and _Sarum_ were used in this "realization" of "For all the Saints."

I recognize Sarum (Hymnal 1940, #126, Second Tune) from my days in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The former Episcopal school there was called All Saints. The school song was "For all the Saints" sung to _Sarum_, as the founding of All Saints School predated the birth of Ralph Vaughn Williams. Each year Calvary Cathedral would alternate the tunes, so one year the alumae could sing their school song and the next year everyone else could sing _Sine nomine_.

How many people do you know still living has sung "For all the Saints" to _Sarum_?
